1st XI Girls' hockey team wins Jenny Hair Trophy


The Havelock North High School Girls' 1st XI Hockey team has returned triumphant from Palmerston North where, during the secondary schools' winter tournament week, they won the Jenny Hair trophy.  This trophy is for the winner of one of two North Island tier 3 tournaments and winning it gives the team promotion to the top tier tournament next year.  Most of the current team were in the 2015 school team that won the tier 4 tournament, which saw them promoted to this tier. The team posted some impressive scores at the tournament on their way to the final.   This win has been five years in the making for coach Greg Brittin and the school congratulates him, assistant coach Steve Tucker and the girls for their fantastic effort in winning this trophy. 

Members of the team are:  Oakleigh Duncan, Holly Brittin, Amy Brittin (captain), Alice Lindsay, Marleen Slabberkoorn, Sarah-Kate Birkett, Jasmine Roydhouse-Ross, Amber Roydhouse-Ross, Helen Langner, Georgia Hulls, Jess Tucker, Jorja Pollock, Lola MacDonald, Trinity Mildenhall, Georgia Lane and Kaitlin Allen.
