Imke Kitchin makes a big impression the netball stage

Imke Kitchin, year 12 HNHS student and former age group indoor rowing record holder, is now making a big impression on the netball stage.  Imke is making her Super 8 debut this season after playing goal shoot for Havelock North High School and the Hawke's Bay Under-15 team.  Standing at 193cm tall, Imke is also on the National Hunt for Height Programme, which was introduced last year to groom tall players for the global stage.  Imke is the tallest in the programme and went to trials in December 2016.   She also attended the NZSS trials in January and the NZSS Maori trials.  Now concentrating on keeping a balance between her schoolwork and sport, Imke says of her netball, "I'll take it as far as I can and I'd love to play for New Zealand one day."  She has her eye on the big picture, is a smart girl, and has the drive and work ethic to make her dreams come true.  Best wishes, Imke.
