Jack Francois’ star continues to grow brighter on the national taekwondo scene.  Jack’s latest achievement was at the New Zealand Taekwondo Open in Rotorua. This was the first tournament that Jack had competed in as a senior. Jack made every post a winner by taking out his weight division, defeating fighters from Australia and New Zealand on the way.  His New Zealand Open title sits alongside his North Island title, Taekwondo United title and New Zealand Taekwondo title. The Taekwondo New Zealand Tournament was significant in that he was awarded the trophy for the best overall fighter in the tournament.
Jack trained all summer for the New Zealand Taekwondo Open on the weekend and it followed a concentrated build-up where he attended several camps in Auckland and Palmerston North and with Olympic coaches at the Sports Institute. He also attended a week long camp in Tauranga with a group of NZ and emerging athletes in January. Jack’s next tournament will be in Australia in May.
