Havelock North High School Boys' 1st XI cricket team made school history on Friday, 24 March 2017, beating Lindisfarne 1st XI by eight wickets in the regional final of the prestigious nationwide Gillette Cup competition.  This meant that HNHS became the Hawke’s Bay representatives at the Central Districts finals, travelling to Palmerston North to play against Nelson College and Wanganui Collegiate.

The team has gone from strength to strength in 2017, marking up victories against Napier Boys, Lindisfarne and St John’s, and capping off the season with a 67-run win over Hasting Boys’ High School.

Coach, Brad Clark, has worked tirelessly with the boys and their confidence and enthusiasm is at an all-time high.  Next challenge for the squad will be taking on the English in England in July on the HNHS UK Cricket Tour.
